TBSSS teachers and students exhibit and win sculpture prizes!

TBSSS teachers, sculptors and students are currently very well represented in major Sydney sculpture prizes.

North Sydney Art Prize 2017

This year’s exhibition featured over 80 artists including TBSSS guest teachers Ingrid Morley (Ingrid’s work pictured above left) and Odette Ireland (pictured above, far right and her work centre), along with TBSSS friend Rod Nash.The North Sydney Art Prize is a biennial arts event showcasing contemporary art with indoor and outdoor works by emerging, mid career and established artists from across Australia. The exhibition featured works on paper, sculpture, installation and new media based works in the care-takers cottage, artist studio, workshop, mess hall, tunnels, chambers and throughout the surrounding parklands at the iconic Coal Loader in Waverton. Congratulations to Ingrid, Odette and Rod for being selected from over 350 entries!

Harbour Sculpture 2017

Harbour Sculpture 2017 is currently on exhibition until Sunday 2 April at Clark’s Point. The exhibition features TBSSS teachers – Wendy Black and Ingrid Morley, along with TBSSS sculptors and students – Carol Crawford, Jules Jones, Peter LewisAllison Garoza, and Elisabeth Thilo. Special mention must be made to Ingrid Morley (pictured left), who won the 2017 URM First Prize (Outside) worth $5,000 – congratulations Ingrid!
