The Figure and Space with Ingrid Morley
Monday 28 September – Thursday 1 October 2020
9:30am – 4:30pm
Work with a live model with a geometric shape (circle, triangle or similar) to consider the body in relation to space.
The figure and these shapes can be broadly interpreted from the classics or as a platform for more conceptual considerations. With an emphasis on play, working in wax, find a creative pathway to juxtapose the human form in conjunction with an inanimate object – exploring the contradictions and conjunctions between these two entities. Enhance your work in wax with the following possibilities; visual tension, negative space, scale, proportion and balance. Take home a small work in wax or cast your work in bronze.
Basic kitchen facilities are available, tea and coffee is provided, local cafes are a short walk away.
(NB casting costs not included in fees)
