Reassemble the Human Form with Ingrid Morley
Wonder at the visual shapes that emerge as you observe the model from life with its rich library of possibilities. With as much guidance as you require, draw and trace your own library of shapes and cut them out of cardboard or plywood using a blade or jigsaw. Reassemble your observed shapes using a playful pathway of exercises including space, rhythm, gesture and colour.
In this 3-day workshop enjoy the plasticity of cardboard and plywood and its connection to other sheet materials such as steel and find your expression in a material that assists you to simplify the human form as a jumping off point to develop a small Wall or 3D sculpture.
Prior experience of working with a life model is an advantage but not essential. The course is directed at beginners, experienced artists and students who would like to increase their visual vocabulary and methods of finding the abstract in their artwork.
