We are excited to announce that entries are now open for the 2020 Tom Bass Prize for Figurative Sculpture. Submissions can be made from Monday 5th August 2019 until the 22nd of November 2019. This year all applications must be submitted online via the Prize website.
This will be the third time the Tom Bass Prize will be awarded and we invite established as well as emerging, and young sculptors to enter. We are pleased to confirm that the exhibition of finalists will again be held at Juniper Hall in Paddington, commencing on the 6th of March 2020 and concluding on Sunday 22nd March 2020.
We can also confirm that this time around the total prize money will be $22,000 (an increase from the last Prize) and all prizes remain non-acquisitive.
The 2020 prizes are as follows:
The Tom Bass Prize – $15,000
Highly Commended – $4,000
Youth Prize – $1,000
Curator’s Choice – $1,000
People’s Choice – $1,000
The Tom Bass Prize for Figurative sculpture was initiated to mark the 100th Birthday of Tom Bass AM (1916 -2010), and is an acknowledgement of the influence Bass has had as one of Australia’s pre-eminent sculptors and educators.
