The Tom Bass Studio flung wide its doors on the first Saturday in February for an Open Studio afternoon. Visitors arrived in their numbers to see inside a working sculpture school and to talk to students about learning sculpture and their experience of the wonderful studio environment. Visitors watched as students worked on their clay modelling and marble carving and there was much chatting to staff and teachers about what the School has to offer.
Potential new students saw for themselves what amazing things can be achieved at TBSSS.
The ‘Seeing through our eyes…’ exhibition of sculpture works by TBSSS teachers coincided with the Open Studio and provided an additional point of interest for the occasion.
Thanks to all those who made Open Studio a great day. It was great to have so many current students be part of the day, helping to spread the word about the Studio. The event was well promoted and the involvement of teachers, staff and students was very welcome.
We are sure that new interest in the Studio School has resulted from the day and that the lead up publicity has been worthwhile. A great team effort! And great for the Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School!
