This is my second year at Tom Bass. I discovered the Sculpture School at the end of 2018 and decided to do some fun creative things as a new year resolution for 2019. After my first term with Christine as my teacher I was hooked and booked in for each term after that.

Where do you travel from each week?

I live in Tempe so it’s not far to travel to the School.

What do you do when you’re not sculpting?

For work, I own and operate a florist shop on the north shore which I have been doing for almost 20 years!

What made you take up sculpting?

2018 was a big turning point in my life, and I had decided to focus my spare time on new hobbies and other creative interests. So I started painting again and tried my hand at sculpting and welding. The welding didn’t eventuate to much, but painting and my weekly class at the sculpture school has stuck. I have also done a special workshop over the Christmas holidays and look forward to trying many new things here in the future.

Tell us about what you’re working on currently…

Due to COVID-19, my current works are locked in the school and I find myself working 6-7 days a week to maintain my business through this tough time.. So sculpture has been put on hold!

However, I am currently working with marble and working on a life-sized skull. I’m also trying to create a skull with clay just to learn about all the details of the skull – it’s like a life sized marquette. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
