For Term 2, 2026, this term workshop runs for 10 weeks and students attend a 3 hour workshop each week. These workshops are for all skill levels and aim to develop students’ knowledge and understanding of all aspects of creating sculpture in a range of media. Students are encouraged to create works they want, Teachers are there to give guidance and advice when necessary. Students can start on any term throughout the year.
What you will Learn
Our workshop classes run for ten weeks with students attending a three-hour class at their preferred time.
You can start on any term throughout the year. These workshops are for all skill levels and aim to develop your knowledge and understanding of all aspects of creating sculpture in a range of media.
What you will create
Frames tangible results, especially important for creative disciplines:
- Depending on the complexity of your sculpture, you may finish your sculpture in a single term, or it may take multiple terms. Your teacher will be able to guide you.
- You will learn skills to start or advance your personal sculpting practice
- You will gain confidence working independently in various sculptural media
- You will learn practical knowledge of studio processes
Meet Your Teacher – Karen Alexander
Karen Alexander has been teaching at Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School since 2015. Karen teaches the Saturday AM Workshop. Karen Alexander was deeply influenced by figurative studies at the original Broadway Studio under the mentorship of Tom Bass AM. She was part of a group of alumni led by Bass to create ‘The Rainbow Serpent’ a community sculpture project for Erskineville Public School. Fees
Fees include GST as well as all basic materials (except stone) and model fees. Classes are small – minimum 6 students, maximum 12. We reserve the right to cancel a class if student enrolments are below 6.
Missed classes must be made up within the term. A cancellation fee will apply for cancelled classes.
Once a student is enrolled, refunds will not be given under any circumstances. Enrolment Conditions specified in our info pack.
Additional single casual workshop class: $75 per session for current students. Please call the Studio to book.
Age Restrictions
Students 18 years and older are eligible to enrol. We cannot accept enrolments for anyone under the age of 18.

Discounts
*Early Bird rates are available until three weeks before the start of each term.
A further 10% discount is available for local residents on low income.
There is a 50% youth discount for students 25 years or younger with an keen interest in artistic practice. Click here for more info.
