Karen Alexander
Karen Alexander has been teaching at Tom Bass Sculpture Studio School since 2015. Karen teaches the Saturday AM Workshop.
Karen Alexander was deeply influenced by figurative studies at the original Broadway Studio under the mentorship of Tom Bass AM. She was part of a group of alumni led by Bass to create ‘The Rainbow Serpent’ a community sculpture project for Erskineville Public School.
Karen’s sculptural forms embody a profound sense of humanity and community. She has been involved in numerous public sculpture commissions, including large-scale bronze works. Her most significant projects include ‘Spirit Girl’ at St Patrick’s College for Girls, Campbelltown, and the M7/M12 Integration Project, bronze figure sculptures.
Her work is distinguished by its emotional depth and storytelling, exploring themes of history, place, and a shared journey within the natural environment.
Her sculptural practice includes a ceramic series of organic forms inspired by our connection with nature, exhibited in regional galleries and through open studios as part of the Southern Highlands Arts Trail.
