On Saturday 24 September, we were excited to throw our doors open for the opening of the 2022 Annual Studio Exhibition. We were thrilled to see so many students, friends and family, and members of the public present. After not being able to hold this event for 3 years due to covid restrictions, it was wonderful to see and feel the Studio buzzing again!
This year the exhibition featured 67 sculptures completed by students over the last couple of years, everything from the abstract to the figure, animals and reliefs, works in bronze, sculptures carved in alabaster, limestone and soapstone, works made from wire and plaster. A big congratulations to everybody who exhibited this year and the high quality of work on display!
We awarded two Prizes this year, Directors’ Choice went to Freyja Usic’s plaster sculpture titled ‘Busted and Broken’ and the People’s Choice Winner was Christophe Cornard for his sculpture ‘Intrepide 1 & 2’. Congratulations to Freyja and Christophe!
Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to all the teachers and volunteer students who participated in the set-up (including cleaning) and pack-down of this year’s exhibition. The studio space was transformed unrecognisably during the ASE period due to all your hard work.
If you missed the exhibition, we will be uploading photos to our website and socials later this month, keep your eyes peeled.
